Just as the offseason kicked off in mid February, Durde was hired to become the Seattle Seahawks’ new defensive coordinator, becoming the first British coordinator in NFL history. Durde’s first exposure to the NFL came in 2005 when – as part of the NFL International Development Practice Squad program, an early predecessor to the IPP – he spent some time on the practice squad of the Carolina Panthers. He spent three seasons as part of the Falcons’ defensive coaching staff, working across a number of roles under head coach Dan Quinn. His permanent hiring in 2018 meant Durde became the first British full-time coach in NFL history. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has defended his "dad bod." Having more body fat is actually helpful as a quarterback, which is the case for many sports. Reacting to a viral shirtless photo of himself, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback defended his "dad bod" in an interview with Time magazine for the 2024 Time 100. "I definitely have the dad bod a little bit," Mahomes, 28, said. If that trajectory continues, NFL games on Christmas could be an annual tradition moving forward, and the move could have a huge impact on how millions of Americans spend the holiday. Previously, the NFL only played on Christmas when it fell on one of the traditional days for NFL games — Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. The 2023 Christmas games were three of the 19 most-watched programs on TV last year, according to Nielsen. In March 2023, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told the media that short-week games do not lead to more injuries. On the other hand, CBS aired 107 games in 2023, but only six were national TV games.

Comcast's Peacock, which streamed an NFL playoff game in January, has another game scheduled for this fall. Well, get ready for round 2: Peacock will have another exclusive NFL game in September, featuring the Philadelphia Eagles and a team to be named later. This one won't be a playoff game, so it won't have anything like the national interest — and the complaints from angry NFL fans — the last Peacock game generated. For nearly two decades, Jim Cramer and his team of "Mad Money" researchers and producers have tried to break the "magician's code" of Wall Street to help individual investors make money in the stock market. They talked about the days when Cramer was a crime reporter and lived in his car in California before eventually landing on Wall Street. "To entertain is not what people think of" when they think of Wall Street, he added. Indeed, the concept behind "Mad Money" – a fun, but educational show about investing featuring calls from at-home viewers – had its doubters at the beginning, Cramer and Gilgan said on stage.
